— Atto Vannucci / Sette Pieghe —
Atto Vannucci, the tie brand created by Sevenfold, founded in Florence, Italy, by Kenji Kaga in 2011.
The brand's defining feature is the “Sette Pieghe,” crafted by folding a piece of fabric nearly twice the size of that used for a conventional tie into seven layers, without interlining.
While conventional ties use interlining to stabilize their thickness and shape, Sette Pieghe ties create the necessary thickness and dimensionality by folding the fabric itself into multiple layers.
Each tie is fully handmade by skilled artisans.
By sewing each one by hand while carefully assessing the fabric’s body and softness, the tie acquires a scarf-like lightness and a soft feel when knotted—distinct from ties whose shape is fixed by an interlining.
When knotted, the fabric gently puffs up, creating natural volume from the knot through the V-zone.
It is a dimensional expression unique to Sette Pieghe, unlike that of conventional three-fold ties.
For this occasion, we created a panel stripe exclusively for cliché.
Silk cotton is used for the fabric.
The refined sheen and smoothness of silk are combined with cotton’s lightness and moderate body, resulting in a fabric that retains its definition even within the soft construction of a Sette Pieghe tie.
The stripe width, height, and placement were all adjusted in detail.
The pattern is positioned with consideration for how it appears in the V-zone, so that when the jacket is buttoned, it initially looks like a solid tie.
Buttoned up, the jacket reveals a quiet solid tie; left open, the stripes emerge.
A Sette Pieghe created for cliché, allowing you to appreciate both the character of the fabric and the way the pattern appears.
