Rough Flannel Shirt 〔GREEN BASE〕

“Loose twist” refers to gently twisting the yarn, while “loose weave” means weaving the fabric without packing the warp and weft yarns too tightly.

This brushed cotton flannel shirt is finished to retain as much air as possible, from the initial yarn-making process through to the weaving.

When tightly twisted yarn is woven at high density, the fabric becomes compact and its contours more defined.
This fabric takes the opposite approach. By loosening the twist of the yarn and weaving it more openly, room is left for the cotton itself to expand softly and generously.

The reverse side is then brushed to trap air within that fullness, balancing lightness and warmth.
The side that touches the skin is soft as well, making it comfortable to wear directly over a T-shirt.

The check pattern is classic, but because the yarn itself has volume, the lines do not appear overly sharp.
The subtly blurred outlines overlap with the shading created by the brushed surface, giving the shirt a dimensional character that feels slightly broken-in despite being new.

The chest pocket is cut on the bias against the check pattern.
Rather than adding a bold embellishment, we created a subtle accent by changing the direction of the pattern.

It has the warmth characteristic of a flannel shirt without becoming heavy or stiff.
This is a soft check shirt made by leaving room in both the yarn and the weave.
