WWⅡ T-Back Jacket（VINTAGE WASH）
— Reconstructed 1950s-style Denim —
Made from denim fabric reconstructed from the perspective of cantáte, based on 1950s LEVI’S 501XX.
While retaining the rugged character of the era, the warp yarn tension and count have been adjusted with summer wear in mind.
It retains the substantial weight characteristic of denim, while offering a dry, lightweight feel against the skin.
The black denim is sulfur-dyed through to the weft yarns.
Even as the color fades, it develops into a richly nuanced appearance reminiscent of vintage denim rather than becoming monotonous.
This is a new proposal for cantáte’s signature fabric, combining tradition and innovation.
The design is a denim jacket based on the 1940s Type 1.
While faithfully retaining classic details such as the front pleats, single pocket, and rear cinch back,
the silhouette has been reconstructed to suit contemporary tastes.
The finish is inspired by the natural aging of a garment that has been thoroughly worn for one to two years.
By keeping the fading restrained, we aimed for a presence that feels already broken in and naturally conforms to the body, despite being new.
It offers something slightly different from the pleasure of breaking in denim from scratch:
the feeling of starting just one step before that point.
A piece for those who want to enjoy denim’s evolution over time in a more immediate way.
