“Even dreams fit inside.”

Good evening.

I’m Tomioka from cliché.

August began last week. It is the season when opportunities to go out increase, with trips and visits home for Obon among them.

As you think about your plans, your belongings naturally start to increase as well: a change of clothes, an extra layer, small items. Before you know it, you may often find yourself wondering, “Which bag should I put everything in?”

As for me, whether traveling, visiting home, or of course going to work, I use a tote bag every day to the extent that there is hardly a day when I do not carry one.

Before I knew it, there was a tote bag in my left hand every day.

There is a proper reason I use my left hand, too.

I photograph my outfits almost every day, sometimes before heading to work and sometimes after finishing for the day. I started not so much so that someone else could see them, but out of curiosity: “It might be interesting to take one every day.”

When I take photos, I have a smartphone in my right hand and a tote bag in my left.

Before I knew it, that had become part of my everyday life.

That is why I am rather particular about tote bags. What I especially like are large ones that let you toss anything in without hesitation.

But bigger is not necessarily better.

It is convenient that it holds a lot, but without compartments, it can be difficult to find what you need. And when it is left open, I do worry that the contents can be seen on trains and in the city.

So I decided to look for something that would resolve all of those frustrations.

Even when I looked for something with those qualities, it was surprisingly difficult to find.

I want plenty of capacity. But I also want ease of use.

And above all, I wanted it to have a stylishness that makes me want to carry it every day.

The bag I am introducing this time neatly resolves that particular selfish request of mine.

The reason I love large tote bags is, once again, this sense of security.

Even when you add a change of clothes or an extra layer, you never have to wonder, “Will this fit?” If your belongings increase while you are out, you can simply toss them in.

For a two- or three-day trip or a visit home, this one bag is more than enough.

You can head out with it without worrying about how much you are carrying.

Perhaps that kind of ease is ultimately what I look for in a large tote bag.

For the photos, I also put in a slightly bulky knit, imagining it being used throughout the seasons.

This is everything I managed to fit inside! In addition to clothes, it can hold a camera and even a laptop.

Even with all of this inside, there is still a little room to spare.

It holds everything neatly even when you simply toss your belongings in without carefully arranging them. The sense of security you want from a large tote bag is more than fully delivered.

"Enough Space Bag (SMALL)"

COL : BLACK×BLACK , NATURAL×BLACK , NATURAL×GREEN

SIZE : SMALL

It comes in the same three colors as “Enough Space Bag (LARGE).”

If LARGE is a dependable size for travel or days when you have a lot to carry, SMALL is better suited to everyday use. It has enough capacity for the things you usually carry, such as a wallet, pouch, and drink.

If you use it every day, this is actually just the right size.

It has an ease distinct from LARGE, with a size that makes you naturally reach for it when heading out.

For carrying every day, SMALL is just the right size.

A wallet, glasses case, camera, tablet, and book all fit comfortably, with a little room to spare.

Neither too large nor too small.

For an everyday bag, this amount of room is just right.

Even when fully loaded, it is light enough to carry without effort. Even when carried for long periods, the weight of the bag itself is hardly noticeable, and there is no feeling of being weighed down by it.

Precisely because it is something you use every day, I think this ease is extremely important.

This is the sense of scale when carried by a 180 cm-tall staff member.

It has substantial dimensions, but when you actually carry it, it somehow does not look overdone.

Without standing out on its own, the bag settles neatly into the outfit.

I want capacity, but I do not want it to feel like I am carrying a large bag.

I think that balance has been very carefully considered.

The clothes are the main focus, while the bag brings out their appeal.

That sense of distance is what I like about this bag.

Not only when held in the hand, but also when viewed from behind, it naturally becomes part of the styling. Carrying the bag even seems to make the back view look a little better.

Not a bag for special occasions, but a bag that extends naturally from everyday life.

It naturally blends into an outfit and is there when you need it. That is why I think I find myself reaching for it almost every day.

At a height of 170 cm, this is the balance it creates.

Even in SMALL, it has a size with a strong presence.

It is not too large and naturally settles against the body.

Rather than carrying a bag, it feels like it has become part of my outfit.

Like choosing an outfit, I find myself reaching for it without thinking. That is what this bag is to me.

Looking at the name again, it is “Enough Space Bag.”

Literally, “a bag with enough capacity.”

Mr. Matsushima usually carries almost nothing. If he carries a bag, it is one large bag. One or the other.

Mr. Matsushima’s personal item

The one on the right belongs to Mr. Matsushima; wrinkles have formed on the handles and the leather has begun to develop character.

That is what makes it so interesting: it is a bag made by someone who does not usually carry bags like this.

Rather than adding features based on what he would use himself, he considers what people will put inside, how they will carry it, and what might inconvenience them. Perhaps it is precisely because he thinks about these things from a little distance that the bag is more practical than it looks.

Deerskin leather label

The bear drawn on the leather label says, “It even holds your dreams.”

It may sound a little exaggerated, but when you use it every day, you start to think it may actually be true.

On workdays, ordinary days off, and when you travel.

Throw in whatever you need, and it will somehow take care of the rest.

And if you use it almost every day, it will eventually become scuffed and faded, and it might even develop a hole.

But by the time you have used it that much, it will surely look better than when it was new.

Having enough capacity may not simply mean being able to fit a lot of things inside.

For everyday life, work, and travel.

Before long, it even starts to hold memories.

Once that happens, it becomes a bag you can no longer let go of.
