Can you truly call something “good”?

Do you remember the story about accidentally putting a T-shirt in the dryer?
Printed on that superb T-shirt.
Doesn’t that alone make you want it just a little?
The words I admired as a high school student and the words that supported me as an adult.
I printed both on this T-shirt.
The front print features the words “The World Is Yours.” from the film “Scarface.” It was a film I watched repeatedly in high school, and I still vividly remember Al Pacino looking impossibly cool and Michelle Pfeiffer being breathtakingly beautiful.
Dangerous, vulgar, and steeped in desire, yet somehow also carrying a sense of purity. In the end, I feel that film is distilled into these words.

This time, I printed those words in a font that evokes a certain dreamlike land.
However, the aim was not simply to create a pop atmosphere.
The one on the right is new; the one on the left has been worn for three months.
The print has been given a crackle finish. As you wear it, it gradually develops cracks, and its appearance changes over time. The new condition is not the finished form; as the wearer’s time is added, it gradually moves toward completion. I believe that transformation itself is part of this T-shirt’s appeal.

And on the back, I included words by Rosanjin Kitaoji that I have treasured for many years.
“I want to devote myself to ensuring that all people appreciate beauty, understand that good things are good, know that walking the true path is the right thing to do, and never fall, even temporarily, into the path of corrupt desire.”
It was drawn by the great illustrator Kahoko Sodeyama.
Someone casually added “my power” at the end, lol.
I have loved these words for a long time.
It is probably very close to the core of who I am.
I am someone who makes things.
That is precisely why I do not want you to buy something strange or end up regretting it.
Of course, clothing is a luxury, so there is no single absolute right answer. Everyone has different tastes and values.
Even so, at the very least, I do not want to recommend something to anyone that I cannot consider sincere.
I want to communicate as honestly as possible about the fabric, the construction, and the price, and once I decide to make something, I want to put out into the world something I myself can stand behind.
Rather, I want you to choose cantáte so you do not make a mistake.
I make clothes every season with that level of conviction.
That is why these words of Rosanjin may be less a phrase I simply like than something close to a guiding principle in creating things.
Can we properly call something good when it is good?
Can we properly walk our true path?
Although I seem to be talking about clothing, perhaps I am really talking about how to live.

It is not a matter of being large or small; when considering how the print looks, its atmosphere, and its slightly relaxed feel, this size felt the most natural.

This piece is brand new, but is one with a particularly pronounced crackle effect.
There are individual variations, but as you wear it, the print is pulled by the movement of the body, gradually developing vintage-like cracks.
I believe that is where the real story begins.
A slightly weathered print looks cooler than a pristine one.
The films I loved in the past and the words I have always treasured gradually take on different meanings as we grow older.
But perhaps what remains even after change is what you truly love.

At first glance, they seem completely different, but strangely, they occupy the same place within me.
Living according to desire and living with integrity.
Perhaps, going back and forth between the two, I am ultimately just searching for my own “true path.”
